About our director

Lisa Dieffenbach is very committed to music education for all ages! She completed her undergraduate degree at Millersville University in 1989 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. She began teaching at the Twin Valley School District, Honey Brook Elementary Center in 1990, where she spent 8 years. With the birth of her two children she moved to the Robeson Elementary Center, only 7 minutes from her home in Birdsboro, PA where she lives with her husband, Dave, who she has been married to for 28 years, and children, Ben-23, and Shannon Rose- 21. Dave and Lisa attend Emmanuel Christian Fellowship in Mohrsville where she helps to lead worship. She completed her master's degree in Educational Leadership at Alvernia University followed by a K-12 Principal Certification. in 2012. She has been the elementary music teacher at the Robeson Elementary Center for 20 years.

Lisa’s great joy in working in the world of education has been to share and teach her great passion towards the United States Veterans. Twenty-two years ago she began with a joint project with fifth grade teachers in teaching her students to sing the theme songs from the military branches . From there she moved to another elementary school and directed her first “Veterans Day Program” recognizing the huge sacrifices that men and women have made in serving their country. After that program other teachers in her building began to suggest other ways that the program could be built upon, including the hosting of a Veterans’ Day breakfast.preceding the program. As the years went by, Lisa kept looking for ways to improve the program and ways to include more of the students. The program grew to include all students ages kindergarten to fourth grade. Lisa has been teaching for 28 years and she intends to continue this program until her retirement. She believes that it is a great honor to bless the men and women who have served in our military.

Lisa fell in love with barbershop singing in 2017. A new chapter in her life, she accepted an interim-director position of the Reading A Cappella Voices in April 2017, followed by officially accepting the position in May 2017. Lisa actively seeks new education in learning how to perfect the sound of the Reading A Cappella Voices by going to Harmony College East and attending rehearsals of the Liberty Belle women's chorus in Lansdale, PA. Lisa continues to work hard as the director of the Reading A Capella Voices as she prepares the chorus for their competition in May, 2019.
